Wow - what a week we had at Milldale! Between the obstacle course in Tarbut, the "Biltong" in cooking (South African Trail Mix), and the Carnival, this really was one of the most exciting weeks of the summer. I truly can't count the times I watched a child running around with a smile on their face. On Thursday all of our bunks stopped by the office to show their Ruach on Lollypop Ruach Day. Each bunk performed a cheer and got…LOLLYPOPS! Make sure to ask your children to repeat their cheers! We are all looking forward to another great week next week, with so much lined up including Crazy Hair Day on Tuesday, Wacky Lunch Wednesday, and National Lettuce Day on Thursday!

Another fantastic week of camp has flown by! Some of our favorite activities in camp this week included a neat obstacle course in Tarbut (complete with awesome face paint), frying olives wrapped in dough on the campfire at Nature, and making cool masks in Drama. On Wednesday, it was such a treat to share camp with our families at Kesher. We loved eating dinner with our families in the pavilion and seeing our moms and dads having fun playing dodgeball and gaga and running through the Sprayground like kids! Thursday was Lollipop Ruach Day, and all the campers that showed their camp spirit received a sweet treat. As our great week came to an end, we enjoyed the fun and games of the annual Camp Carnival! Everyone had a blast!

This week at Camp Milldale was very exciting from Lollypop Ruach Day to attending the Orioles game. For Lollypop Ruach Day, campers sang fun cheers in order to receive lollypops. At the Orioles game, we cheered on the home team and we even saw a homerun! This week many campers enjoyed the science of splash. I had the honor of being a judge for the splash contest. I was soaked by the end of the contest! The highlight of the week was the carnival on Friday. The campers loved the water slide and moon bounce. An event to look forward to next week is crazy hair day on the 27th. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

CIT’s
The second session has picked up right where the first left off. The new CIT’S are adjusting so well to camp and the returning CIT’S are all enjoying their new bunks. During our training session on Tuesday we did a name game to meet each other. We also had Elon from the pool come and talk to the CIT’S about the expectations and their responsibilities while at aquatic activities. On Wednesday we had our field trip to the Oriole’s game. It was a lot of fun and all the CIT’S received foam fingers. On Thursday the CIT’S spent most of the training session working on the CIT carnival. Friday was on the biggest days of the session for or CIT’s. We began the day by leading flagpole and getting camp excited for the carnival. All afternoon the CIT’S ran all the booths (like face painting, snow-cone making, soccer goal shoot-out and more) and gave all the campers great prizes. I have been so impressed by all the CIT’S so and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Arts Camp
This has been a very busy week in Arts Camp! Our campers have tried their hands at paper mache, making their own piñatas. They have hand sewn little felt dolls while others used the sewing machine to create pieced pillow tops. The finished pillows had one side that was a traditional quilt square, with the flip side having an appliquéd creature. Today the campers painted clay flowerpots that will hold lollipops that the campers helped make. They also got into the spirit of lollipop ruach day, by taking small pots of their candy to the administrative staff at camp that they know. They all entered the main house at once serenading everyone with one of the songs they have been working on for the end of year show. We are hoping to begin tie dying next week, and are asking that you send in whatever items your child wants to dye, pre- washed, with their name written in permanent (or laundry) marker. We are looking forward to teaching the campers some new dying techniques. Thanks to all of you that came to Kesher Wednesday night. We hope you had fun!
Till next week-

Bogrim
This week we had two new campers join Bogrim, took an adventure to Camden Yards, and had a thrilling time at the Camp Carnival. While at Camden Yards, Bogrim heartily cheered for the O’s and they were especially excited for their home run. The campers enjoyed the foam-finger give away and baseball game snacks. We ended our week with Camp Carnival; it involved games, prizes and an inflatable moon-bounce. Bradley and the CIT’s did an excellent job coordinating the Carnival and deserve a round of applause!

Sports Camp
This week was so exciting with Sports Camp's trip to the Orioles game on Wednesday for foam finger day. Campers and counselors had a blast watching a close battle between the Ray's and O's. Campers were cheering so loud and waiving their foam fingers, all of Sports Camp made it on the Jumbo-Tron! Week 5 was filled with many fun filled sports as well. Campers participated in great competitive sports like World Cup, Dodgeball, Neucomb, Tennis Baseball, and many more. Great sportsmanship was displayed by all! The week was capped off with an amazing Milldale Carnival on Friday. Campers conquered the obstacle course, jumped up a storm in the moon bounce, and flew down the huge water slide. We are so excited for week 6 and can't wait to see what lies ahead!!!
